If water is actively flowing where it shouldn't be — turn off your main water shutoff first. It's usually near the water meter, in a utility closet, or in the crawl space. Then call us.

Common Plumbing Emergencies We Handle

Burst or Leaking Pipes

A burst pipe can release dozens of gallons per minute. Shut off the main water supply immediately, then call. We'll walk you through next steps on the phone.

Water Heater Failure

A leaking tank or pressure relief valve that won't stop requires immediate attention. Turn off the cold water supply to the heater and call us.

Sewage Backup

A backed-up sewer line is a health hazard. Don't use any drains or toilets until it's cleared. Call immediately — we'll scope and clear it.

No Water at All

If water stops suddenly, check your neighbors first — it may be a municipal shutoff. If it's isolated to your property, call us to diagnose.

Gas Water Heater — Gas Smell

If you smell gas near your water heater, leave the building, don't operate any switches, and call NW Natural at 1-800-422-4012, then call us to address the appliance.

Slab Leak

If you hear water running with everything off, or have warm spots on the floor, you may have a slab leak. Turn off the main and call — slab leaks need detection equipment and a plan before digging.

What to Expect When You Call

We answer our own phone. Dale or Kelly will pick up — not an answering service, not a call center. We'll ask a few quick questions to understand what's happening, advise you on any immediate steps to limit damage, and give you an honest answer about response time.

We operate Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm for regular calls. After-hours emergencies are handled by call — leave a message and we will call back. We prioritize genuine emergencies.

Minimize Damage While You Wait

  1. Shut off the water — main shutoff if the source is unknown, or the fixture shutoff (under sinks, behind toilets) for isolated leaks.
  2. Move valuables and electronics out of affected areas. Water follows gravity and spreads quickly.
  3. Mop or towel up standing water to reduce floor and subfloor damage while you wait.
  4. Document with photos before cleanup — useful for insurance claims.
  5. Call your insurance company if the damage is significant — water damage claims often cover plumbing failures.
