Giving Back to Our Community: Spectrum Plumbing’s September Donations
At Spectrum Plumbing, we believe that running a family-owned business in Salem, Oregon is about more than providing outstanding plumbing services. It’s about building lasting relationships and giving back to the community that supports us. This September, we’re proud to celebrate a special month in our household by donating 5% of our earnings to two organizations that are close to our hearts: Merry Heart Children’s Camp and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Why September Matters to Our Family
September is always a busy and joyful time for the Kinsley family. Our two oldest sons, Asher and Holden, celebrate their birthdays this month, and so does Dale, Spectrum Plumbing’s lead plumber and co-owner. With all of these milestones, we wanted to honor the people and organizations who have made such a difference in our lives.
Our middle son, Holden, was born with a congenital heart defect called Double Outlet Right Ventricle. His medical journey has included multiple open-heart surgeries, countless appointments, and the incredible care of doctors, nurses, and staff at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland. Thanks to their dedication, Holden is thriving — and now even looks forward to his time at Merry Heart Children’s Camp, a summer program for kids with heart conditions.

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital
Doernbecher has been a lifesaver — quite literally — for Holden and for thousands of children across Oregon. They provide world-class care while also supporting families during their most difficult moments. By donating, we hope to help other families facing similar challenges.
Merry Heart Children’s Camp
Holden has now attended Merry Heart twice and loves the opportunity to connect with other kids who understand what it’s like to grow up with a heart condition. Camp Howard in Corbett, Oregon, provides a safe, supportive space where kids can simply be kids. It’s a life-changing experience for these children, and we are honored to give back.
